Standalone engine management / Platinum series
Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 ECU
A configurable standalone fuel and ignition controller for a verified engine build. The Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 ECU supports up to four injector outputs and four ignition outputs; the exact firing strategy depends on the engine and wiring.

Build logic
Choose the wiring strategy before the parts list
The Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 ECU is a wire-in standalone controller. A vehicle name alone cannot confirm fitment or a plug-and-play installation.

Identify the engine
Send the year, make, engine code, cylinder count, trigger type and current ECU arrangement. The Sport 1000 specification includes piston engine applications with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 8 cylinders and two-rotor applications, subject to the selected control strategy.
Allocate fuel and ignition channels
Four injector outputs and four ignition outputs allow sequential strategies on suitable four-cylinder layouts. Eight-cylinder projects require a suitable semi-sequential fuel and wasted-spark or other compatible arrangement; eight cylinders do not mean eight independent injector and eight independent ignition outputs.
Confirm harness and accessories
Check connector condition, pin allocation, loom length, power relays, sensors, USB communication cable and optional boost hardware. We quote the controller, harness and other parts according to the confirmed supply list.
Technical reference
Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 ECU specifications
These figures describe the manufacturer’s Platinum Sport 1000 specification, not an assurance that every optional accessory is included in the offered unit.
| Item | Sport 1000 reference | What to confirm for your order |
|---|---|---|
| Fuel / ignition | Up to 4 injector outputs and 4 ignition outputs | Sequential, batch or staged fuel strategy; distributor, wasted spark or compatible direct-fire arrangement |
| Inputs / auxiliaries | 4 digital pulsed outputs; sensor, trigger and auxiliary inputs detailed by Haltech | Allocate outputs to boost, fan, pump, idle or other functions; they cannot all be assumed simultaneously |
| Mapping | Fuel and ignition maps with 32 RPM × 32 load points | Confirm MAP/TPS load sensing, trigger calibration and professional tuning |
| Logging | 448 kB onboard logging and laptop logging in the official specification | Confirm cable, working firmware and compatible ECU Manager environment |
| Pressure sensing | Internal MAP sensor rated to 150 kPa; external MAP sensors listed separately | Match sensor range to intended boost pressure |
| Physical size | 160 × 104 × 39.75 mm; controller approx. 400 g | Confirm mounting space, plug clearance and condition |
Where it fits
Typical Sport 1000 projects
The Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 ECU can be considered for a race, rally or modified road-engine project when the required output count and engine trigger are compatible. Haltech lists fuel injection and ignition control, configurable idle and boost functions, data logging and real-time programming among its capabilities.
- Engine conversions or carburetion-to-injection projects
- Four-cylinder sequential fuel and ignition applications
- Selected six- or eight-cylinder builds using an appropriate grouped strategy
- Two-rotor projects after trigger and ignition review

- Relays, fuse hardware and any optional boost solenoid
No fixed price or universal compatibility claim is made from the screenshot listing.
Model distinction
Sport 1000, Sprint 500 and Sport 2000
This page is for the Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 ECU. The Platinum Sprint 500 is a separate controller with its own output and application limits. The Platinum Sport 2000 is another separate model. Tell us which unit is in hand; we will not substitute one model’s wiring, firmware or specification for another.

Buyer questions
Before ordering a Sport 1000
Use these answers to prepare a compatibility enquiry for the Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 ECU.
Is the Sport 1000 plug-and-play for my car?
No universal plug-and-play fitment is implied. The exact vehicle, trigger system, existing harness and any adaptor must be checked.
Does an eight-cylinder listing mean eight separate ignition channels?
No. The official specification gives four injector outputs and four ignition outputs. A compatible grouped or wasted-spark strategy must be reviewed for a particular eight-cylinder build.
Is the wiring harness included?
Only if it appears in your written quotation. The seller photo does not confirm loom, sensors, USB cable or other accessories.
Can it manage turbo boost?
Haltech lists electronic boost control as a configurable function. The chosen solenoid, MAP sensor range, spare output, wiring and calibration need confirmation.
Which software should I use?
Haltech lists ECU Manager for its Platinum Series. Verify the controller’s revision, communication cable and available computer environment before relying on legacy software.
