Eight-channel wire-in engine management

LINK XtremeX Standalone ECU & Connector Options

Explore a LINK XtremeX standalone ECU for a custom wire-in engine management project. The G4X XtremeX platform is designed for applications needing up to eight injector drives, eight ignition drives and electronic throttle control, subject to the exact hardware and installation.

A complete quote starts with the actual controller identification, engine, sensor list and wiring plan. We can discuss an XtremeX controller, connector components and suitable A/B loom options as separate or project-configured items.

The supplied photographs show an XTREMEX-marked unit. We verify its generation, provenance, serial identification, connector set and software compatibility with the offered stock before confirming a quotation. Photos alone do not establish those details.

Model identification

Choose XtremeX by the controller you will receive

LINK uses distinct names for its G4X XtremeX and earlier G4+ Xtreme ECUs. Although both names appear in the source photographs, they should not be treated as one SKU. This page covers the XtremeX-marked controller only. A housing photo, label and serial or revision details should be matched to the physical stock before ordering.

Injector and ignition planning

LINK lists eight injector drives and eight ignition drives for the G4X XtremeX reference model. That supports up to eight cylinders with sequential injection and direct spark, or up to four rotors, when the rest of the build is compatible. Confirm coils, injectors and trigger strategy before choosing the ECU.

Electronic throttle and functions

LINK documents built-in E-throttle and advanced functions such as anti-lag, cruise control and traction control on the G4X XtremeX. Availability in an actual supplied unit depends on verified hardware, firmware, wiring and calibration; an experienced installer should confirm the application.

A and B connection planning

The G4X XtremeX reference requires A and B looms for installation. If you need connector housings, terminals, unterminated looms or a complete harness, identify each item in the quotation. A photograph of loose connector parts does not mean every part is included.

Wideband lambda route

The G4X XtremeX should not be described as having the FuryX’s onboard digital wideband lambda control. Discuss a compatible external wideband solution if air-fuel feedback is part of your project, or compare our LINK FuryX page.

What the photographs show

Inspect the unit and connectors before selecting a loom

A closer look at the XtremeX-marked case can help identify the supplied controller. The connector photograph helps buyers discuss housing style, terminal set and the practical wiring work needed for a wire-in ECU. Neither photograph substitutes for the pinout or an inventory of included parts.

  • Ask for the actual unit’s model, label, serial and revision.
  • List injector, coil, trigger, throttle, sensor and CAN requirements.
  • Specify whether A/B looms, connectors, terminals and tuning services are required.

Wiring scope

Build the harness around the engine, not the name on the box

The same LINK XtremeX standalone ECU model can serve very different projects. Harness length, connector type, ECU mounting location, power distribution and sensor choices need to fit the vehicle. A wire-in ECU also needs a suitable base configuration and professional calibration before road or track use.

Send a vehicle and engine code, cylinder or rotor count, throttle arrangement, injector and coil specifications, crank and cam trigger details, boost target where relevant, and a list of factory systems to retain. We can then discuss the XtremeX controller and connector or loom supply without assuming that a universal harness is plug-and-play.

Model comparison

XtremeX, Xtreme and FuryX are different choices

The product names are useful search terms, but the model generation matters more than spelling. Use the table to frame a technical enquiry; confirm the delivered hardware and current specification before purchase.

Model nameHow to distinguish itQuotation focus
G4X XtremeXCurrent XtremeX reference platform; eight injector and eight ignition drives and E-throttle in LINK’s specification.Verify supplied unit identity, A/B connection parts and calibration needs.
G4+ XtremeEarlier Xtreme generation; distinct documentation and peak-and-hold injector specification.Do not substitute for XtremeX without a separate technical review.
G4X FuryXRelated model with onboard digital wideband control.See the FuryX product page when integrated wideband is required.

Questions before ordering

LINK XtremeX ECU buyer questions

Are Xtreme and XtremeX the same ECU?

No. LINK documents G4+ Xtreme and G4X XtremeX separately. Treat them as different generations and confirm the exact controller, firmware and compatible wiring components before ordering.

Does an XtremeX ECU include A and B looms?

Not automatically. LINK states that A and B looms are needed for the G4X XtremeX reference. The delivered controller, connector parts and looms should be listed individually in the quote.

Can the LINK XtremeX run an eight-cylinder engine?

LINK specifies eight injector and eight ignition drives for the G4X XtremeX, allowing up to eight cylinders with sequential injection and direct spark in a suitable installation. Engine triggers, injector and coil compatibility, wiring and tuning still require review.

Is this a plug-in ECU for my vehicle?

This page discusses a wire-in standalone ECU. It is not a model-specific plug-in replacement. Provide the engine and vehicle details so the installation and harness can be scoped.

Are the pictured connector parts included?

The photos are identification references. Ask for the itemized supply list: controller, housings, terminals, A/B looms, sensors and any calibration service.

Project enquiry

Specify the engine and the XtremeX package

Send us the vehicle, engine, existing ECU, wiring changes, injectors, ignition system and desired functions. We will review the LINK XtremeX standalone ECU request against the physical stock and prepare an itemized controller and harness quotation.
