Compact standalone engine management
MaxxECU MINI Standalone ECU
A compact engine management controller for builds that need programmable fuel and ignition control. The MaxxECU MINI combines four injector outputs, four ignition outputs, an onboard 400 kPa MAP sensor, CAN communication and USB tuning with MTune.

Product overview
Small controller, deliberate wiring plan
The MaxxECU MINI standalone ECU manages the configured engine functions through its own sensors, inputs and outputs. It is a wire-in controller, so the vehicle, trigger arrangement, injector impedance, coil drivers and factory systems need to be reviewed before a harness is terminated. The MINI is intended for up to four fully sequential cylinders; other supported multi-cylinder strategies depend on the engine and ignition configuration.
Compared with a generic ECU listing, a useful MINI quotation identifies the actual controller version and every item in the box. The supplied reference photographs show a MaxxECU MINI controller together with a flying-lead harness, USB lead and printed material in some views. Those photos document the items photographed, while the items included in a new order are listed separately in the quotation.
MTune is the manufacturer’s PC tuning software. The built-in MAP sensor can support boost measurement without treating that alone as a finished calibration or a guarantee that any particular vehicle is compatible.

Verified MINI platform
What the MaxxECU MINI can connect and control
Fuel and ignition
Four high-impedance injector outputs and four 5 V ignition signal outputs support a properly specified engine setup. Check coils, igniters and injector resistance before wiring.
Inputs and protection
Onboard 400 kPa MAP, coolant and intake temperature, throttle position, trigger, two extra analog inputs and two Hall-type digital inputs support the configured measurement plan.
MTune and logging
USB communication allows MTune setup and calibration. The platform provides internal logging, configurable warnings and engine protection functions; final settings belong to the tuner.
CAN and auxiliary outputs
CAN communication and four general-purpose outputs allow supported modules and functions to be considered after checking the electrical and software requirements.
Built-in MAP sensor
The manufacturer’s 400 kPa sensor is rated for up to 3 bar / 43.5 psi boost. Route its pressure connection correctly and check the installed plumbing.
Know the limits
MINI does not have a built-in wideband lambda controller, built-in knock input or onboard Bluetooth. Do not assume larger MaxxECU model features are present.
The technical figures above describe the MaxxECU MINI platform in the manufacturer’s published specifications. Engine compatibility and purchased accessories still require confirmation.
Buying configuration
Controller and harness: specify both
A MaxxECU MINI wiring harness can be useful as part of a controller package or as a separately supplied replacement loom.
Tell us the package you need
- ECU only: controller without assuming the harness or programming cable is included.
- ECU plus flying-lead harness: request the connector, loom length, USB lead and included accessories as a written list.
- Harness only: send the MINI revision and connector photograph so the correct loom can be checked separately.
For a harness-only request, use the contact page and specify “MaxxECU MINI wiring harness only” in your message.
The manufacturer’s current labels “unit only,” “BASIC” and “STANDARD” describe different package contents. LikedLinking quotes the physical items actually available rather than treating a package name as an automatic inclusion list.
Fitment workflow
Five details to send before ordering
Engine identity
Vehicle, year, engine code, cylinder count and naturally aspirated or boosted configuration.
Injector and ignition
Injector impedance, coil/igniter arrangement, trigger pattern and the sensors to retain.
ECU and harness
Controller label or revision, connector photos, wiring diagram and requested harness length.
Also identify any factory ECU systems that must remain, CAN devices, expected boost range and who will perform installation and calibration. A qualified installer should follow the correct revision’s wiring guide and test power, grounds and outputs before starting the engine.
Technical buyer questions
MaxxECU MINI FAQ
Is this a standalone ECU or a piggyback controller?
MaxxECU MINI is a standalone wire-in engine management ECU. Its installation and calibration plan differ from a piggyback controller that works alongside an existing ECU.
Can the MaxxECU MINI run a four-cylinder engine?
The manufacturer lists up to four fully sequential cylinders. Actual engine compatibility depends on the trigger system, injector and ignition hardware, inputs, outputs and required functions.
Does the controller have built-in wideband lambda control?
No. MaxxECU lists a built-in wideband lambda controller among features unavailable on MINI. If closed-loop lambda measurement is needed, discuss a compatible external solution or another ECU model.
Are the harness and USB cable included?
Not automatically. The reference photographs show these items together, but the quoted supply list decides whether an order includes a controller, harness, USB lead, paperwork, fittings or other accessories.
Can I buy only the MaxxECU MINI wiring harness?
Ask for a harness-only quotation with the controller revision, connector photo and required length. The loom must be wired for the intended vehicle; it is not presented as a universal plug-and-play harness.
Does the MINI support VVT or electronic throttle?
Function availability and output capacity need a project-specific review. The manufacturer lists VVT functionality but does not list dedicated onboard electronic throttle motor outputs on MINI. Do not assume a photographed controller can satisfy a specific drive-by-wire project.

Match the MINI package to your engine
Send the vehicle and engine code, injector and ignition details, trigger information, desired functions, photos of any existing ECU and the requested quantity. We will confirm the MaxxECU MINI controller, harness and accessory scope before quoting.
